Runner Tracking during the Race this Weekend

October 29th, 2004

I was wrong about the map tracking. You can only track via e-mail. I guess it’ll send you e-mail when I cross certain points.

http://www.doitsports.com/results/RUN-track.tcl?id=2941

Just go there, create an account (as required) and then search for Filias. There, you’ll be able to tell it to email you when I cross the finish line, midpoint, and any other point (3 checkboxes).

The Map Tracking feature is only for spectators of the race, I guess.

This page deals with all the technology involved during this Sunday’s race.

Wish me luck!!!

Maybe being lazy last week was good?

October 21st, 2004

Okay, so last week I ran 0 of 29 miles. Not sure why, just lazy, I guess. I thought it was going to be a big issue, but I’m one of those people that likes to “test” things. Well, after taking last week off, this week I’ve been putting in a bit of overtime in terms of effort.

I broke my record for 6 miles yesterday by 1m11s. Last year, on Sep. 24, I ran 6 miles in 50:56. Yesterday, 49:45, an 8:18 pace. I was pretty happy for myself. 6 miles is much different than 26.2, but it raised my morale, nonetheless.

These are my best paces, life to date:

Had a great 20 mile run this weekend!

October 11th, 2004

Of the 3 marathon training seasons I’ve had, this year’s 20 miler was the best one, by nearl half an hour! I did my 20 mile run yesterday morning in 3:02:58, about 26 minutes faster than last year, and at a 9:09 pace! I’m pretty excited for the race, but, anything can happen that day!!!
