Cool Car

May 5th, 2004

I love sport sedans. I work in a cooler location at work these days. We just moved on Friday, actually. I now to get see all sorts of new cars. Just yesterday, a Hydrogen Fuel Cell car was behind me!

Here’s the fun Aussie car:

Took the Saab in for its first intermittent service (free)

April 16th, 2004

I got my service light the other day. FINALLY. 14899 miles… it’s about TIME to get an oil change. They also checked the tires to see if they were worn enough to finally swap out the tires (at a nominal cost to me) for some that have a slightly harder rubber compound. Same tire, just harder. They also set my lights to the rest of world setting.

This turns off the daytime running lights and allows me to have just the foglights on if I choose, as well as having the high beams on WITH the foglights, which is illegal in most states!

Saab / Pirelli woes

March 9th, 2004

I hate Saab more than ever.

They just called and said they had mismeasured a few months ago when they found out I could get my tires (2 of them) replaced per this program with Pirelli and pay 46 per tire. They are at 5/32 and 8/32 (back and front) on wear. They need to be 3/32. So I have taken my car there, wasting my time on a number of occasions. What can I do?

So by the time they are worn at 3/32, it’ll probably be past the 15,000 mile mark where they prorate and give you a break on tires, and new tires will cost a fortune.
