Tru Green

August 26th, 2008

Now that this is finally over, I wanted to share the latest bill I received from Tru Green ChemLawn of Shelby Township, MI.

A few months ago, they did 2 lawn treatments within two days of each other. The first, spray, and the 2nd, granular. I think they spilled something on the 2nd visit and burned a 4 foot in diameter patch in my lawn, near my front door. It’s definitely a horrible mistake on their part, and they never truly acknowledged it saying they goofed. All they did was come back a few days later and lay down some pretty nasty brown pellet looking fertilizer that smelled HORRIBLE.

To add to this, they billed me for the application that burned my lawn and kept telling me they’d remove it from my bill, yet, they kept billing me. They finally broke the camel’s back when I got my bill on Saturday. I filed complaints with local news channels and the better business bureau, as well as Tru Green corporate. I’m not sure WHICH of these entities actually called them about it, but when I spoke with “Kim” today, she said they had applied a credit on the 19th of August, 2008, which was the date of the last bill they sent. I don’t believe them. I’ll share some pictures (when I get them from home) of my burnt lawn as well as this bill, which was pretty over-the-top  of how NOT to handle customer service, if you ask me. Read WHO they addressed this bill to.

What the candidates are reading

August 18th, 2008

This jumped up on google.com a bit ago…a link to what Barack Obama and John McCain are reading. I wasn’t surprised by their lists.

Barack:

McCain:

To me, DailyKOS is like DailyPOS and Huffington Post is just plain garbage. I won’t even link to them.

I was glad to see that McCain read The Drudge Report, FoxNews, and JibJab!

Mac OS X Approaches 8% Market Share

August 8th, 2008

A few years ago, while in business school, we wrote a paper on Apple’s growth and their opportunity to take their 3-4% market share and turn it into a double digit market share. A few years later (now), it seems they are getting there. The popularity of their Intel-based MacBook Pros and and MacBooks has really made their climb possible.

You can read more about this at ArsTechnica.

Your vs You’re

August 4th, 2008

I can’t believe this. I’m having an adult (at least I think it’s an educated adult I’m talking to) conversation with my friend from high school. I’ll leave his name out to save him embarrassment.

My friend:

I’ll take it off your bill! Your in BYATCH!!!

Me:

And it’s “you’re” in.

My friend:

Nope, what country did you grow up in?

Me:

Are you retarded? When you say “your in”, that means my “in” is ???

When I say “you’re in”, I am saying “you are in”.

Where did you go to college? Oh right…. Geeeez.

My friend:

I believe you are the retarded one. You should learn to speak English like the rest of the country!
